97 4.6 Vacuum lines behind battery
Hello, my battery ate through the vacuum lines behind it and pretty much destroyed them all . I'm having trouble figuring out where they're supposed to go.
Coming out of the fender I have a 1 white,1 tan, 1 Big black and 1 small black . I've matched them all up except for the small black line . I have no Idea where it goes to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, I looked at the diagram and it didn't make any sense to me. My truck is 2wd and doesn't have the pink or blue tubes.

No, that thread would not apply to a 2wd.

Go to a Ford parts dept., they will look it up for you and cut you a copy of the specific diagram for your specific vehicle, I do it all the time!
Or find an Identical truck at the junkyard, look at it, and write down where the lines go, bring a digital camera.

Yup..only vacuum lines I'm aware of under or behind the battery are for engaging the hubs for 4x4.....I agree with Fordbest98...go visit a local ford dealer parts dept.

I stand corrected....there definitely are several other vacuum lines around the battery besides the 4x4....the diagram does show that. I had 171 and 174 codes just the other day and had to replace a bunch of vacuum lines.....but since the truck was in for inspection, and the codes had to be resolved for emissions to pass, i just let the local shop take care of them. They charged about a 100 bucks to replace.
